Hey everyone! I had a bit of a disaster with my laptop today and I'm looking for some advice. My budgie took a nap on my keyboard and, well, she left a watery dropping that got stuck under a few keys. I tried to clean it as best as I could, but then I made a rookie mistake and sprayed cleaning spray directly on the keys. I know that was a dumb thing to do and I really feel bad about it. I've turned off my laptop and placed it upside down, but I'm not sure what to do next or if it can even be saved. Any suggestions or help would really be appreciated! By the way, my budgie is fine—she's just chilling out downstairs with my family!

This is the best story ever! I mean, besides the damage, it’s hilarious how things can go wrong in such a silly way.
It really depends on the type of spray and your keyboard design. I had a similar scare before, and while I spilled a little liquid, flipping it over helped. But newer models might not be as forgiving.
Thanks for that! I tested the keys after shutting it down and most are okay except O, P, enter, and backspace. Hoping flipping it upside down will help.
What kind of cleaning spray did you use? And what's the brand and model of your laptop? It might help figure out the damage.
I used Mr Muscle. It's a Dell XPS 13, model from 2021.
Got it! Let's see if we can figure out what to do next.

Haha, thanks! I’ll probably laugh about it eventually, but I'm feeling like a total idiot right now.
