What’s the best GPU for 1080p gaming without breaking the bank?

I'm in the market for a good GPU that provides solid performance for 1080p gaming, but prices are a bit steep here. Ideally, I want something that can also handle some simple VR games like Half-Life: Alyx, but I don't need anything too high-end. My budget options right now are: 9060 XT 8GB for 19k, 5060 for 20.5k, 5060 TI 8GB for 23k, and 9060 XT 16GB for 26k. Above these, there's the RX 9070 for 35k and RTX 5070 for 36k. I'm worried that these might bottleneck with my i5 10400F. What's the best bang for my buck? Feel free to ask any questions to help narrow it down!

Honestly, the best bang for your buck is usually a used GPU. You could get something like a used 3080 for around the same price as a new 5060, but you may need to upgrade your PSU. Just be cautious about the condition!

I grabbed an RX 580 for just $10! It was previously used for mining and had a modified BIOS, but after re-flashing it, it works like a charm. While it’s an older model, it offers great value for the price and should handle 1080p gaming decently with your setup.

If you’re looking for VR stability, I’d recommend going with the 5060 TI. It’s about 15-20% faster and the slight premium is worth it for performance. The 9060 XT is decent too, but NVIDIA cards are generally more stable with VR.

For 1080p gaming, I’d suggest the 9060 XT 8GB for esports titles. But for AAA games, a used RX 580 would be a good choice. If you can find a used 6600 or 6600 XT, that could also be a solid option!

I’d consider the RX 7600 or the RTX 5050, but make sure to check availability since they can be hard to find. Just a heads-up though—make sure what you choose can support VR, not all of them do!
