I just bought a new laptop with a 1TB SSD, but I have a faster 2TB SSD I want to install. However, when I opened the bottom panel, I found that the screw holding the SSD in place is stripped. If you're feeling adventurous and have removed the battery to avoid any accidents, you might consider using a rotary tool with a cutting disk to create a straight slot in the screw head for a flat-head screwdriver. Just be super careful and clean up any metal dust afterward! I've used this trick before, and it worked wonders on old electronics, including laptops!
Honestly, for something like this, if all else fails, just rip it off! Sometimes you just have to go full-on brute force. But be careful not to damage anything else in the process!
That sounds tricky! I don't have those tools, and buying them isn't an option for me right now. Feels like that screw is glued in there for good!
