I'm trying to upgrade my M.2 WiFi card, but I just realized that I need to replace the entire PCIe adapter because it has the EMI shield soldered shut. The issue is that my PC only has a 4-pin Bluetooth data cable and a 1x slot width for the adapter, which makes it hard to find compatible options online. I'm uncertain if I should change the USB 3.0/4 headers to a 9-pin configuration to fit a newer adapter or if there are better alternatives I might be overlooking.

I'm looking to connect to WiFi 6e or 7 because my old card only supported up to WiFi 5. Since I upgraded my router to an ASUS RT-BE88U, I want to utilize that faster connection.
Have you checked if you have any available USB 2.0 9-pin headers? Most Bluetooth connections often use those nowadays. You can actually convert a USB 3.0 connection to a 2.0 one, so that might work for you!
It would really help to know what you're trying to achieve with the WiFi card upgrade. What's the reason behind it?
