How can I tell if my CPU or motherboard is failing?

I was gaming on my PC when I took a quick bathroom break. I returned to find a black screen, and now it won't post at all. There's a red CPU indicator light on the motherboard. I've tried clearing the CMOS, reseating both the CPU and RAM, and removing all non-essential components to boot. Is my setup done for? Here are my specs: Motherboard: Gigabyte B650 X AX V2, CPU: 7800x3d, GPU: 7800 XT Nitro+, PSU: Corsair RM850e 2025, with M.2 drives Samsung 990 Pro 2TB and Samsung 980 EVO 1TB.

If you have access to a spare power supply, try swapping it out. Sometimes the PSU can be the culprit for these issues, even if it seems fine.

Have you checked the motherboard manual? It usually contains codes for the LED indicators. If the CPU light is on, it might point to an issue with your CPU or motherboard. It’s worth checking if it blinks a specific number of times, which can help diagnose the problem.

It doesn't blink; it's just steady on the CPU light.
