Is rate-limit or RPM access for Claude on Amazon Bedrock available automatically, or is there an approval or activation process? I've seen people using Claude through Gmail-based accounts, so I'm wondering whether the email provider affects eligibility and whether new accounts are blocked by default. Any clarification on access, quotas, regions, or account requirements would be helpful.

It depends on the specific model, region, and account. Some Bedrock models may become available quickly, while higher limits or particular models require a quota request or a waiting period. Check the Service Quotas and model-access pages in the AWS console first; that will show whether access is genuinely available rather than merely listed as supported.

The available regions and models can also differ, and the behavior sometimes feels inconsistent. The quotas page is the most reliable way to confirm what the account can actually use.
