iPhone 17 stopped charging by cable and is extremely slow on MagSafe

For the past few days, my iPhone 17 has barely charged on MagSafe and will not charge through a cable at all. The phone recognizes the cable—the battery icon turns green and shows the lightning bolt—but the battery percentage continues to drop. A magnetic portable charger also keeps disconnecting even while attached. The problem happens with both USB-C cables and Apple cables that previously worked reliably. The charging port is clean and unobstructed, and the phone has never had charging issues before. The problem began while the phone was running iOS 26.6, and I am now on iOS 27. I have restarted the phone several times and even performed a full reset, but nothing changed. Since the phone is less than a year old, I would appreciate any suggestions before seeking service.

Since this happens with multiple known-good cables and chargers, and a reset did not help, it sounds more like a hardware or power-management problem than a simple software setting. The phone detecting the charger but losing battery suggests it may not be receiving enough power. I would arrange an Apple diagnostic or warranty inspection rather than continuing to replace accessories.

If iOS 27 is a beta or otherwise not the publicly supported version, service diagnostics may be limited until you return to the latest stable release. If possible, back up the phone and restore it to the supported version before taking it in. Also check whether the issue remains while the phone is powered off, since that can help distinguish a software problem from a charging circuit or battery fault.

I was not sure whether going back to an earlier iOS version was possible, but I will check the supported restore options before booking service.
