My current PC has an Intel i5-13400F, an RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, 32GB of system RAM, and a 650W 80+ Gold power supply. It was a prebuilt that I've been upgrading over time. The RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT look appealing based on benchmarks, but the least expensive RX 9070 I can find is around $600. I can buy an RTX 5070 through my workplace for about $599, or roughly $587 after my employee discount, and I could also purchase an 850W power supply. My bank has a $600 daily debit limit, although I can call to have it temporarily changed. Since the RTX 5070 would be cheaper and easier to buy, would it be the better choice, or is it worth going for the RX 9070 or RX 9070 XT instead?

Honestly, I’d consider keeping your current setup. The RTX 5070 is too small of an improvement to justify replacing the 5060 Ti, and even the RX 9070 XT may not feel dramatic depending on your monitor, resolution, and games. You might get more noticeable benefits from faster storage or a platform upgrade later. Otherwise, saving the money for a larger future upgrade could be the better move.
I’ve used both cards, and I personally prefer the RTX 5070 despite the RX 9070 having more memory. That choice can come down to driver experience, features, game support, and personal preference rather than raw specifications alone.
The RX 9070 XT is the strongest option here. Some models can be found for around $660, and it offers a significant performance increase over the RTX 5070. Just make sure your power supply is suitable, since you may need to budget for a better unit as well.

The RTX 5070 probably isn’t a worthwhile upgrade from a 16GB RTX 5060 Ti for the price. You’d gain performance, but roughly around 30% in typical gaming, which may not feel substantial. If you’re determined to upgrade, the RX 9070 XT would provide a much more noticeable jump.
