I'm replacing the stock fans in my PC case and want good-quality white fans with strong airflow and low noise. RGB doesn't matter, and since the computer sits on my desk, keeping the system reasonably quiet is important. I'm currently considering the Arctic P12 Pro PST, but I'm open to alternatives.
Is it safe to connect more than three PWM fans to one CHA_FAN header, or should I stay at three or fewer? If I need a controller, what PWM fan hub would work reliably with FanControl? A previous hub made every fan run at full speed and wasn't detected properly.
Also, when a motherboard BIOS profile is set to Silent, will the fans still ramp up to maximum speed when temperatures rise, or does that mode limit their top RPM?

A fan hub that makes everything run at maximum speed is often being powered incorrectly, connected to the wrong type of header, or failing to pass the PWM signal through. A SATA-powered hub with one motherboard PWM connection is the safer design for several fans. Also make sure the fans and hub use the standard four-pin PWM connectors rather than relying on a basic splitter that only distributes power.
Noctua fans are known for being quiet and dependable, but their white selection is limited and they’re expensive. For a white build, Arctic is probably the more practical option. Just keep in mind that “silent” doesn’t mean a fan will stay quiet at 3000 RPM; it usually means the BIOS uses a lower fan curve. In most setups, the fans can still ramp up when temperatures get high, but the exact behavior depends on the motherboard’s BIOS. A custom curve gives you predictable control.
Check the motherboard manual for the maximum amperage or wattage of each CHA_FAN header, then compare it with the combined draw of the fans. If the total is too high, use a SATA-powered PWM hub rather than powering all the fans directly from the header. A properly powered hub should still pass the PWM control signal back to the fans and avoid overloading the motherboard.
The Arctic fans are a solid choice. I generally keep it to three fans per motherboard header, although some systems can handle more. The important number is the header’s current limit, which should be listed in the motherboard manual. Add together the rated current of every fan you plan to connect and stay below that limit.
For noise, a 3000 RPM fan can be very loud at full speed, regardless of how good it is. The advantage is that you can run it at a much lower speed during normal use and still have extra cooling available when needed. A manual fan curve is usually better than relying on a generic Silent preset. For example, keep the fans at a nearly inaudible speed until around 65°C, then gradually increase them.

That makes sense. I was mainly worried that the 3000 RPM rating would make them noisy all the time, but running them slowly until temperatures rise should help.
