I'm building my first PC and would appreciate a compatibility and value check. The planned parts are an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, MSI B850 GAMING PLUS WIFI6E motherboard, Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE cooler, 32GB of DDR5-6000 CL30 memory, a 2TB Silicon Power UD90 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, an XFX Radeon RX 9070 XT, a Montech AIR 903 MAX case, and an 850W Montech CENTURY II Gold-rated modular power supply. I recently updated the SSD choice. Are these components a good match, and are there any changes or other advice I should consider before buying?

The parts are broadly compatible, and the 9800X3D with the RX 9070 XT makes a strong gaming combination. A 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30 kit is a sensible choice for AM5, and the 850W power supply should provide plenty of headroom. I’d consider a larger SSD if the budget allows, since modern games fill 2TB surprisingly quickly. The alternative build also saves money on the cooler and motherboard while giving you twice the storage.
One thing to double-check is the exact version of the UD90 SSD. Some newer batches have reportedly changed from TLC NAND to QLC, which can reduce sustained write performance and endurance. It will still work for gaming, but I’d compare it with a known TLC-based 2TB drive at a similar price before ordering. The rest of the build looks well balanced.
The MSI B850 board is available for less than the suggested Asus model. Unless you specifically need the Asus board’s extra connectivity or features, the cheaper MSI should be perfectly reasonable if its specifications meet your needs.
