What GPU should I pair with a Ryzen 7 7700X for 1440p or 4K gaming?

I'm building my first PC and plan to use a Ryzen 7 7700X with 32GB of T-Create RAM, a 1TB Samsung SSD, a Corsair 750W power supply, a 360mm Corsair liquid cooler, and an ASUS TUF B850 motherboard. I have around $600–$800 to spend on the graphics card and want something capable of demanding games at high settings, mainly at 1440p or possibly 4K. What GPU would be the best match for this system and budget?

The RX 9070 is another good option if you want to stay closer to $600–$700. The 9070 XT offers roughly a 10% performance increase, so the better value depends on the price difference. An RTX 5070 is also worth considering if you prefer NVIDIA features or plan to use workloads such as AI, though both cards should work fine with a quality 750W power supply.

You could also look for a discounted RX 6950 XT, especially if you are comfortable buying used. Otherwise, a lower-cost RX 9060 XT may fit if you do not need as much 4K performance, but the RX 9070 or 9070 XT makes more sense for demanding gaming in this budget.

The Radeon RX 9070 XT looks like the strongest choice in this price range. It pairs well with the 7700X and should handle 1440p at high or ultra settings very comfortably, while also being capable at 4K. If it is available around $720–$800 in your area, it would be a solid buy.

I have an RX 9070 XT paired with a Ryzen 7 7700 and it performs very well at 1440p high and ultra settings. In demanding games, it generally stays around or above 60 FPS, with good temperatures. Just make sure the specific power supply model is high quality and that the case has enough airflow for the card.
