Is anyone else seeing iPhones lose cellular service on T-Mobile? Several devices in upper Manhattan have no connection, and reports suggest the problem may be affecting multiple regions, MVNOs, and some international roaming customers. Service appears to be coming back intermittently in certain areas, but availability is inconsistent. Has anyone confirmed the cause or found a workaround?

The outage seems inconsistent: some phones remain connected while others nearby lose service, and personal lines may go in and out. That makes it look more like a regional network or backend problem than a specific iPhone model issue.
Reports also mention some MVNO customers and people roaming internationally being affected. Service has returned in parts of the Midwest and other areas, but outages are still being reported in New York and elsewhere, so it may be best to wait for the carrier's network recovery rather than troubleshoot each phone individually.
Several people suspect a problem with T-Mobile's DNS or other network services, especially since service varies by location and appears to recover in waves. That hasn't been confirmed, though, so changing DNS may not restore cellular connectivity itself.
This appears to be a broad T-Mobile network outage rather than an issue limited to one office or device. People are reporting failures in New York, Rhode Island, Texas, California, Illinois, and other areas, though some locations are still working normally.

A similar thing happened with two phones sitting next to each other, so the device chipset probably isn't the main difference.
