I currently have a Gigabyte B550 Gaming V2 motherboard, a Ryzen 5 3600, an RTX 3060 Ti, and 16GB of DDR4-3200 memory. I'd like to move to DDR5 and want to know which parts need replacing. I'm in the UK, don't have a strict budget, and would prefer the cheapest solid upgrade path. I'm expecting to reuse the graphics card and any other compatible parts if possible.

You don’t necessarily need DDR5 for a worthwhile upgrade. If gaming performance is the goal, staying on AM4 and upgrading to a Ryzen 7 5700X3D could be much cheaper. You could keep the B550 board and DDR4 memory, update the motherboard BIOS first, and put the savings toward a future graphics card upgrade. Move to AM5 only if you specifically want the longer upgrade path that DDR5 provides.
Your current B550 motherboard and Ryzen 5 3600 only support DDR4, so moving to DDR5 requires both a new motherboard and a new CPU. The RTX 3060 Ti can be reused. A sensible modern upgrade would be a Ryzen 5 7600, a B650 motherboard, and 32GB of DDR5-6000 memory. You should also check that your power supply and CPU cooler are compatible with the new platform.

I’m in the UK and don’t have a fixed budget, but I’d prefer the least expensive option that’s still reliable. I’m guessing the switch will get expensive once the CPU, board, and memory are included.
