Need Help With My NVMe M.2 Adapter Installation

I'm a beginner trying to set up an NVMe M.2 adapter on my HP ProDesk 400 G1 SFF computer, which has an Intel i5-4570 processor, 16GB of DDR3 RAM, and is running both CachyOS and Void Linux on existing SATA drives. I recently installed an AXAGON NVMe M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 adapter with a Samsung 256GB SSD. However, when I attempt to boot into Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS installed on that SSD, I encounter errors in GRUB about a missing device and kernel. I've made sure to update GRUB, but I'm unsure how to get this adapter working properly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like you need to switch to UEFI boot instead of legacy boot to get your SSD working correctly. Once that's done, you should be able to boot your OS without those errors! Let me know if you need help with making that change.

Thanks for the suggestion! I managed to create a UEFI bootable USB using Rufus and installed Ubuntu smoothly. But I still run into the same error after trying to boot from the SSD. Do you have any more tips?
