Hey everyone! I'm considering getting the Asus TUF Gaming B760-Plus WIFI motherboard, and I noticed it lists RAM support from 4800MHz to 7200MHz (when overclocked). I'm interested in purchasing a 7200MHz RAM kit, but I want to know if it'll work fine with this motherboard, or if I should just play it safe and go for a 4800MHz kit? I'm not really into overclocking, so I'd prefer something that just works right out of the box without any BIOS tweaks. Any advice or recommendations would be super helpful!

If you don’t enable XMP, your RAM will run at the default speeds, which means a 7200MHz kit might just be a waste. Going for 6000MHz or even 6400MHz with CL30 might be a sweet spot, but you’ll have to tweak the settings to hit those higher speeds. If you can manage enabling XMP, a 6000MHz kit would definitely serve you well!

I'd suggest going for around 6000 MT/s RAM with CL30, that's usually a good balance between speed and compatibility. You might find it performs really well without needing to push your BIOS settings too far.

To clarify, when your motherboard says '4800MHz up to 7200MHz (OC)', it means all RAM will default to 4800MHz unless you enable an overclocking feature like XMP. So, yes, you’re right about needing to push for higher speeds with that kind of setup!
