I just got a new PC built, but I'm facing a frustrating issue: it fails to launch any games. It can run a full benchmark on ultra settings without a problem, but when I try to start a game like CSGO, it only brings me to the home screen and then crashes when I try to load anything else, with no blue screen or anything like that. It's a bit of a hassle to drive two hours back to the shop, so I thought I'd ask if anyone has ideas about what might be causing this. I've already reinstalled all the drivers, including for the motherboard and CPU. I suspect it might be related to the RAM, XMP settings, or power supply. Here are the specs: Motherboard: MSI MPG X870E, CPU: Intel 14900k, GPU: 4070TI, 32 GB DDR5.

Did you buy your PC from a store that builds custom systems? It might be worth checking for any overclocking software like MSI Afterburner. Make sure nothing is set up incorrectly there. Also, take a look at the event viewer when it crashes to see if there are any error codes that you could Google for more info.

Yeah, we went in and selected everything we wanted, and they built it really quickly, but we didn’t get to check it out before leaving. It’s a bit odd, but the guy installed driver boosters too, which seemed strange to us.
