I'm looking for a platform that combines configuration management database (CMDB) capabilities with IP address management (IPAM). What solutions are you using, and how well do they handle network devices, servers, and general asset tracking?

NetBox works well as the source of truth for network infrastructure. You can pair it with Oxidized to back up and track network device configurations, while handling compute and storage inventory separately during a larger platform migration.

Nautobot is another good option, especially if you want automation and extensibility alongside IPAM and infrastructure inventory. For laptops and end-user equipment, pairing it with Snipe-IT can fill in the asset-management gaps.

NetBox is a strong choice if your priority is network infrastructure and IPAM. It provides detailed modeling for devices, sites, prefixes, VLANs, and addresses, while also covering many CMDB-style use cases.
