How should I connect my XFX Mercury 9070 XT to a PSU with limited GPU power ports?

I'm installing an XFX Mercury 9070 XT, and the card has three 12V-2x6-style power connections. My ASRock SL1200P power supply seems to have only two GPU power cables and two available ports. Should I use dedicated 600W GPU cables, standard 8-pin PCIe cables, or a combination of both? Does the connection order matter?

This model reportedly uses the older 8-pin PCIe-style power connectors rather than three native 600W 12V-2x6 connections. Connect all three GPU sockets with separate 8-pin PCIe cables from the power supply. Check the labels and the card’s manual before plugging anything in, since the connector type determines which cables are appropriate.

If the PSU includes two dedicated 600W GPU cables, can I use those two along with one standard 8-pin PCIe cable?

Use both dedicated GPU power cables from the PSU, plus one separate PCIe power cable for the third connection. Avoid powering all three sockets from a single daisy-chained cable if you can.

So the third connection doesn’t also need to use a 600W cable, and the order doesn’t matter?
