I've had an iPhone 16 since February 2025, and it's already using about 125.5GB of its 128GB capacity. iOS and System Data together appear to take up more than a quarter of the phone's storage. Is that amount normal, and what can I do to free up space?

Just to clarify, 125.5GB used means the phone is nearly full—not that 125.5GB is available. iOS itself needs a fair amount of space, and System Data can grow because of caches, temporary files, downloads, logs, and updates. Check Settings > General > iPhone Storage to see what’s actually taking up the most room. iCloud storage won’t automatically remove local copies, so enabling options like Optimize iPhone Storage for Photos, deleting downloaded media, and offloading unused apps may help.
