Hi, I have a Lenovo gaming computer, although I don't know the exact model. The computer powers on and is charged, but the display is completely black. I tried restarting it, increasing the brightness, and pressing Windows + Ctrl + Shift + B, but nothing changed. Shining a flashlight at the screen reveals the desktop very faintly. Is this something I can fix, or should I take it in for repair or replace the computer?

If you can barely see the desktop with a flashlight, the screen is producing an image but its backlight has probably failed. That usually points to a faulty display panel, backlight, or display cable rather than a Windows setting. Try connecting the computer to a TV or external monitor to confirm that the rest of the computer works. If it’s still under warranty, contact Lenovo; otherwise, a repair shop can inspect the screen and cable. You probably don’t need to buy a new computer.
Before paying for a repair, shut it down completely, unplug the charger, and hold the power button for about 15–20 seconds. Start it again and test an external display if you have one. If the external display works while the built-in screen remains extremely dim, the laptop likely needs a screen or backlight repair.
