Laptop Keeps Black-Screening and Going to Sleep by Itself

My laptop sometimes black-screens while I'm opening it or playing something, then the power light flickers and it goes into sleep mode. It can also happen after running for a while. I recorded a video, but the issue isn't always obvious in it. To clarify, by "closes" I mean the laptop enters sleep mode—it isn't physically closing its lid. The battery still works, and the problem continues even when the battery is disconnected and the laptop is running on its charger. What could be causing this?

If it is actually crashing or suddenly losing power rather than physically closing, this sounds like a hardware or power-management problem. Possible causes include overheating, a failing charger or charging circuit, a bad power button, a loose internal connection, or a motherboard fault. Checking temperatures and Windows Event Viewer may help narrow it down, but the video and symptoms aren’t enough to identify the exact cause.

The video does not clearly show the laptop going to sleep, so it’s difficult to diagnose from that alone. Try checking whether the display goes black while the laptop remains running, or whether the entire system powers down. Also test with another compatible charger and check whether moving the lid, charger plug, or power button triggers the problem.

Since the issue continues with the battery disconnected, the battery itself is less likely to be the cause. If the laptop still works on battery but fails while plugged in, inspect the charger, DC jack, and charging circuitry. If it fails on both power sources, a loose connection, faulty sensor, or motherboard problem becomes more likely.

It is crashing and entering sleep mode, not physically closing. I also tested it without the battery, and it still happened while using the charger.
