I recently switched to Linux Mint, but my display is stuck at a 4:3 aspect ratio and 1024×768 resolution. My monitor supports 1080p, yet the display settings do not offer any other resolutions and the monitor is not detected correctly. My system has an Intel Core i5-11600K, an NVIDIA RTX 3070, 16 GB of DDR4 memory, and a 2 TB NVMe SSD. What should I check or change to restore the correct display resolution?

The RTX 3070 may not be configured correctly yet. Open Driver Manager in Linux Mint and check whether the recommended proprietary NVIDIA driver is installed and active. After installing it, reboot and check the display settings again. Also make sure the monitor cable is plugged into the graphics card rather than the motherboard’s video output.
