Is Temporary Image Retention Normal on an Apple Studio Display?

Has anyone noticed a static image or icon lingering faintly on an Apple Studio Display after the screen changes? For example, if the display sits idle with the same image for a few minutes, the outline may remain visible for a short time afterward. Is this normal LCD behavior, or could it be a sign of permanent burn-in?

That’s generally normal for an LCD. A static image can sometimes linger briefly after the content changes, but it should fade away on its own. This is temporary image retention, not permanent burn-in like you might see with OLED panels.

Thanks! I was mainly worried because it can happen after the display has been idle for only about three minutes.

A short idle period can still occasionally cause it, especially with high-contrast images. As long as the image disappears after a few seconds and doesn’t become more persistent, it usually isn’t a concern.
