What CPU should I pair with a Radeon 9070 XT on a $1,750 budget?

I'm planning my first custom PC and will be selling my current prebuilt to help fund it. My total budget is around $1,750, and I'm aiming for a Radeon 9070 XT for 1440p gaming, mostly in AAA single-player titles. I was considering a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, possibly through a CPU, motherboard, and RAM bundle, but I'm unsure whether that's the best use of my budget. I'm open to other processor and platform suggestions, especially if they leave more room for the rest of the build.

The bundle deals can be a great value, particularly because they usually include 32GB of memory at a reasonable price. For a new gaming build, I’d prioritize 32GB rather than trying to save money with 16GB. Compare the total bundle price against buying a Ryzen 5 7600 or 7600X with an affordable B650 motherboard, since that could free up money for a better SSD, power supply, or cooling.

Another option is a higher-core-count processor if you also do demanding non-gaming work. It may offer more cores for productivity while performing similarly in games at 1440p, but for a build focused mainly on AAA gaming, spending extra on the CPU is usually less important than balancing the rest of the system.
