I'm considering upgrading from my RTX 3070, but current GPU prices make it difficult to choose. I found an MSI RTX 5070 Ti Gaming Trio listed for €950 on a local second-hand marketplace. The seller has good feedback, lives nearby, and says they can provide the original Amazon invoice. They claim the card is still unopened, although I would verify that carefully before buying. Would €950 be reasonable, or would it make more sense to buy a cheaper brand-new Radeon RX 9070 XT? I also found a PNY RTX 5070 Ti for around €931 from Amazon, but I've heard that model's fans may be fairly noisy. Are cards from brands like Palit or PNY worth considering at roughly €950–€999, and should I be concerned about coil whine or warranty coverage?

€950 for a second-hand listing is hard to justify when a brand-new RX 9070 XT can offer similar gaming performance for less and comes with straightforward warranty coverage. Unless you specifically need Nvidia features such as CUDA, DLSS, or better ray-tracing support, the Radeon is probably the better value.
I’d be cautious about paying only a little less than retail for a marketplace card. New RTX 5070 Ti models from reputable retailers can sometimes be found for around €100 more, which buys you clearer consumer protection and less risk if the card has been opened, returned, or has a warranty issue. Compare the exact cooler and return policy rather than assuming Palit or PNY will always have coil whine or loud fans.
That makes sense. I’m comparing a few new options around €950–€999 now, since the small price difference may be worth avoiding the marketplace risk.
The seller says it’s unopened, so it could effectively be new, but I’d definitely verify the seal, invoice, serial number, and warranty terms before treating it that way.
