I'm completely new to building PCs and want to put together a gaming computer from scratch. My budget is roughly £1,000 to £1,500, and I don't currently own any components. I'm open to recommendations for the parts and would also appreciate advice on whether that budget is realistic. The main purpose is gaming, but I haven't decided yet whether the budget needs to include a monitor or other peripherals.

A parts list is a good starting point, but make sure it uses UK pricing and availability rather than US prices. The budget should cover a solid gaming system, though adding a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and operating system could push the total toward the upper end. Decide your target resolution and the games you play before choosing the graphics card.
That budget is definitely realistic for a strong gaming PC, especially if it’s for the tower only. A sensible target would be a modern midrange CPU, 32GB of RAM, a fast 1TB NVMe SSD, and a capable graphics card. If you want to play at 1440p, prioritize the GPU and pair it with a 1440p IPS monitor. OLED looks excellent too, but it will take more of the budget.
The main use will be gaming. I don’t have any parts yet, and I’m still deciding whether the monitor should come out of the same budget.
