I'm currently extracting files on my Samsung 870 EVO 2TB SSD, but the speed is really disappointing. I expected it to hit peak speeds near 500 MB/s, especially since it's working on its own data. Hmm, it seems like your measuring method might be off. Your screenshot shows that the SSD is mostly idle (only 13% busy) during extraction. The unpacking tool could be the issue since it’s likely not providing enough bytes per second for the SSD to fully utilize its potential. A dedicated disk performance benchmark might help clarify the actual speeds you're getting.
I get that the SSD can handle a lot, but I’m really curious why 7-zip is struggling to keep up.
