Which DDR5-6000 RAM timings make the most sense for a Ryzen 7 7800X3D build?

I'm building a gaming PC in Germany with a budget of roughly €2,000 and I'm unsure which memory kit is the better choice for a Ryzen 7 7800X3D—or possibly a future 9800X3D. I'm comparing two DDR5-6000 kits: one rated at CL30-36-36-76 and another at CL30-38-38-96. What do these numbers mean, and would either kit provide better latency or FPS? My priority is high FPS and low latency in relatively lightweight games, with the possibility of upgrading the graphics card later. The rest of the planned system is a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, RTX 5060 8GB, Lexar NM790 1TB NVMe SSD, 32GB Goodram IRDM Black Silver DDR5-6000 CL30 memory, Gigabyte B850 Aorus Elite WiFi 7 motherboard, Alpenföhn Dolomit Premium cooler, be quiet! Straight Power 12 850W PSU, and a Fractal Design Meshify 3 case.

Both kits run at DDR5-6000 and have the same primary CAS latency of CL30. The 30-36-36-76 kit has slightly tighter secondary timings than the 30-38-38-96 kit, so it is technically a little faster, but the real-world difference will be extremely small—usually indistinguishable in gaming. If the prices are close, choose the tighter kit; otherwise, buy whichever is cheaper and has a good EXPO profile.

For AM5, DDR5-6000 is generally the sensible target because it usually gives the Ryzen memory controller a good balance of speed and stability. With an X3D processor, RAM latency has even less impact than with many standard CPUs because the large cache reduces memory access. A reliable 32GB DDR5-6000 kit with EXPO matters more than going from timings like 30-38-38 to 30-36-36.

The bigger concern is the overall allocation of the €2,000 budget. An RTX 5060 is fairly modest for a system at that price, especially if gaming performance is the goal. You could potentially save money on the motherboard, cooler, case, and power supply and put more of the budget toward a stronger graphics card, such as an RTX 5070-class or Radeon RX 9070-class model. That would produce a much larger FPS improvement than the small difference between these memory kits.

The current parts are around €1,700 in Germany, and the plan is to replace the RTX 5060 later and possibly move from the 7800X3D to a 9800X3D. The initial graphics card is mainly intended as a temporary choice.
