I'm wondering whether a GTX 1060 is heavy enough to bend or sag when installed without a support bracket. GPU supports are expensive where I live and aren't readily available, and I don't have LEGO pieces or much experience opening a PC, so I'm worried about damaging something while installing one. If support isn't necessary, will the card be fine on its own? If a simple household alternative would help, I'd appreciate suggestions.

You probably don’t need to worry. GPU sag is much more common with the large, heavy triple-fan cards. A 1060 is unlikely to bend enough to cause a problem, even after years of use.
I’ve seen GTX 1060 systems run for many years with no support and no noticeable sag. If you ever want extra reassurance, a correctly sized pencil, piece of plastic, wooden stick, or small rock could act as a prop, but it isn’t necessary for this card.
A GTX 1060 is relatively small and light, so it should be completely fine without extra support. The 6 GB version doesn’t change that in any meaningful way.
