Before buying anything, check what is actually limiting performance. Monitor CPU and GPU usage while running the games or applications that feel slow. If the GPU is near full usage, upgrade the graphics card first; if the CPU is maxed out while the GPU is underused, a processor upgrade will help more.
If that 2 TB drive is a hard disk, replace it with an SSD before anything else because it can make Windows and loading times feel dramatically faster. If it’s already an SSD, check its health and leave some free space rather than filling it completely. Don’t use aggressive compression or rewriting tricks as a substitute for replacing a failing drive.
For a relatively inexpensive CPU upgrade, the Ryzen 5 5600 is a strong choice. Update the B450 motherboard’s BIOS first, then install the new processor. It should provide a noticeable improvement while letting you keep the rest of the platform. If you’re still using the stock cooler, an affordable tower cooler would also help with temperatures and noise.
