I'm choosing a graphics card and comparing options such as the RTX 3060 12GB, RTX 3060 Ti, RTX 3070, and an AMD RX 6000-series card—probably the RX 6700 XT. If AMD no longer provides major driver updates for the older 5000 or 6000 series, should that affect my decision? Have current owners noticed any drop in gaming performance, or are these cards still good choices, especially on the used market?

A used RX 6800 could be a strong option if you find one in good condition. It offers plenty of VRAM and usually performs well for modern 1440p gaming, but check the card’s price, cooling, power requirements, and previous usage before buying.
A lack of new driver features doesn’t mean the existing drivers stop working. These cards should continue running games normally; the main concern is that they may eventually receive fewer optimizations or fixes. The RX 6000 series is still generally considered capable hardware.
That’s what I’m trying to find out—whether people currently using them have noticed any actual decrease in gaming performance.
There hasn’t been a confirmed announcement in this discussion that AMD is dropping driver support for the RX 5000 or 6000 series. Also, older Nvidia cards can face a similar situation where they mainly receive security updates rather than major game optimizations. I’d compare actual performance, VRAM, features, condition, and price instead of rejecting a card solely because it’s older.
If that’s the case, I’m open to considering any of these cards based on the price and performance.
