Windows 11 keeps showing Microsoft Pinyin for Chinese and Microsoft IME for Japanese in the keyboard list, even though they are not selected under the language settings. I use third-party input methods for both languages and would like to remove or hide these default layouts without losing the ability to use Chinese or Japanese. The laptop is an LG 16U70R-K.AAS7U1.

Those keyboards are usually installed as part of the Chinese and Japanese language packs, rather than as completely separate layouts. Check Settings > Apps > Optional features (or Installed apps, depending on your Windows build) and look for the corresponding language packs. Removing the entire pack should remove the built-in IMEs too, but be careful: it may also remove language components that your third-party input methods rely on. If you still need the language packs, try the older input-language dialog by running `intl.cpl`, then remove leftover Microsoft input methods from there. You may need to sign out or restart afterward.
I still use Chinese and Japanese, just through third-party input methods. Will uninstalling the language packs prevent those from working?
