Where can I ask Linux and general tech support questions?

I'm looking for a more reliable place to ask technology questions, especially about Linux. My questions sometimes get removed automatically when a system thinks they violate a rule, even when I believe they follow the guidelines. Are there dedicated tech-support or beginner Linux forums where people are welcoming and willing to explain things clearly? One issue I'd like help with is transferring files from a computer to an iPhone. A Lightning cable worked before, but it no longer does.

You could try a general technology question board, as well as a beginner-focused Linux help forum. Those spaces are usually better suited to troubleshooting questions and explaining basic concepts.

Thanks, I’ll save both options. One of my questions is about moving files from my computer to my iPhone. A Lightning cable used to work, but it doesn’t anymore.

Many support boards use automated rule filters that look for certain keywords or formatting. They aren’t necessarily understanding the full context, so a legitimate question can sometimes be removed. Checking the posting guidelines and using a dedicated help forum may give you better results.

I’m not very familiar with technical terminology, which is why I’m looking for a place where people can explain the solution in beginner-friendly language.
