I have an RTX 3060 that was previously used in my dad's work computer, and he doesn't need that level of graphics performance, so I'm hoping I can use it in my own build. I'll mainly play competitive games such as Fortnite and I'm buying the parts in the United States. I already have a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and other peripherals, and I'd prefer a case with a glass side panel. My original budget was around $600, but my parents offered to add some birthday money, so I can spend roughly $850. I'd like to use an AM5 processor and DDR5 memory if possible. What parts would you recommend for the rest of the system?

If the bundle price still doesn’t work out, AM4 or an Intel DDR4 platform would provide more storage and memory for the money. You could fit 32GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, and a better-equipped case and power supply without stretching the budget. The tradeoff is having less upgrade flexibility than AM5, so the $850 budget makes AM5 a better choice than it would have been at $600.
A sensible spending plan would be about $400 for the Micro Center CPU, motherboard, and memory bundle, $70–100 for a 1TB SSD, $80–110 for a dependable 750W power supply, and $70–120 for a glass-panel case. Reserve the remaining money for a cooler, extra case fans, or a second 16GB memory module. Avoid spending the entire budget on a premium case while settling for low-quality power or storage.
With an $850 budget, AM5 becomes much more realistic, especially since you already have the RTX 3060 and peripherals. Since you live near Micro Center, check their processor, motherboard, and memory bundles first. A Ryzen 5 7500X3D bundle could give you a strong gaming CPU, motherboard, and 16GB of DDR5 for roughly $400. Add a second matching memory stick as soon as possible, then use the rest of the budget for a 1TB SSD, a reliable 750W power supply, a basic CPU cooler if needed, and a glass-sided case.
At the original $600 budget, AM5 and DDR5 would force too many compromises: possibly 16GB of memory, a tiny SSD, and a very basic case or power supply. With the increased budget and a bundle deal, though, AM5 is worth considering. Prioritize 32GB of DDR5, a 1TB NVMe drive, and a quality power supply over appearance or extra motherboard features. Your RTX 3060 should be perfectly suitable for competitive games at 1080p.
I do live close to a Micro Center, and I already have all the peripherals, so the extra budget can go entirely toward the computer.
