I'm currently using a Corsair 275R Carbide, which isn't especially good for airflow. My system has a Radeon 9070 XT and a Ryzen 7 9800X3D. The CPU is cooled by a front-mounted 240 mm AIO; I would prefer to mount it on top, but the case doesn't have enough RAM clearance. I also have a lower front intake fan, two top exhaust fans, and one rear exhaust fan.
While gaming, the CPU usually sits around 60–70°C and reaches about 90°C under a sustained 100% load. The GPU reaches roughly 65–70°C under load, but its memory temperature gets as high as 95°C, which is what concerns me most.
Would moving to a better-ventilated case, such as the Corsair 3500X or a similar mesh-front model, make a meaningful difference? I'm not mainly looking for extra performance—I just want to avoid thermal throttling and maximize the lifespan of my components.

Some spacious cases can fit a top-mounted 360 or 420 mm radiator and several large fans, but bigger isn’t automatically better. What matters most is unrestricted intake air and a clear path through the case. A reasonably priced mesh case would be a sensible upgrade if the current front panel is choking the radiator and GPU.
A larger airflow-focused case can make a noticeable difference if you want lower fan speeds and more room around the components. Models such as the Lian Li Lancool 207, Antec Flux, or other mesh-front cases are worth considering. Just don’t expect a case swap alone to transform temperatures that are already broadly safe.
Your CPU numbers are only really notable during sustained all-core workloads. If you’re not regularly maxing out the processor, the gaming temperatures are perfectly reasonable. The memory temperature is the one worth monitoring, but 95°C by itself doesn’t indicate immediate damage or throttling.
Those temperatures don’t sound dangerous. A 100% CPU load can reasonably push the 9800X3D toward 90°C, especially if it happens only occasionally. The GPU core temperature is quite good, and 95°C for the GPU memory is warm but generally still within its operating limits. I wouldn’t assume you’re thermal throttling from these numbers alone.
A mesh-front case with a more open internal layout would probably improve airflow, particularly for the graphics card, but it may not produce a dramatic change if the card is already only reaching 65–70°C. Before replacing the case, check whether the GPU fans are responding properly, make sure the intake and exhaust fans are oriented correctly, and try a slightly more aggressive GPU fan curve or a small undervolt.
