I'm almost done with my PC build but I'm torn between choosing the 7700X or the 7600X for the CPU. If I go for the 7700X, I'll only have enough budget left for the RX 9070 OC Nitro+, while opting for the 7600X would allow me to get the 9070XT or even the 5070TI. I'm really confused about whether I should prioritize more cores or a more powerful GPU. I mainly play single-player RPGs at 1440p and also enjoy modding games like Skyrim and The Witcher 3. I want to make sure the CPU I pick will be able to keep up with new titles in the coming years.

It’s generally better to invest in a stronger GPU before upgrading your CPU. In your case, the performance differences between the 7700X and the 7600X aren’t huge for gaming, so I’d recommend going with the 7600X and saving some cash for a better GPU. You'll get similar gaming experiences, and that GPU will really make a difference!
I appreciate the advice! Just trying to think ahead for future titles.
Totally agree, prioritize the GPU. Honestly, just make sure your CPU choice won’t bottleneck your graphics card. AMD typically provides better value unless you’re doing heavy workstation tasks, then Nvidia might have the edge. Stick with the 7600X, it's a solid choice for gaming.
If you're really leaning towards future-proofing, consider how many games are currently CPU-intensive. The 8 cores may help with some future titles, but right now, balanced builds with great GPUs seem to perform better overall, especially in the titles you mentioned.
Totally get that! It’s smart to future-proof, but the GPU will still give you the best bang for your buck now.
