I've just built my first PC, and it randomly powers off while I'm using it. After shutting down, it won't turn back on for a while. The parts are an MSI Gaming RTX 5070 Ti, MSI MPG X870E Edge Ti WiFi motherboard, AMD Ryzen 7 9000-series processor, 16GB Patriot DDR5 memory, Samsung 9100 Pro 2TB SSD, ROG Strix 1000W Platinum White Edition power supply, and a Peerless Assassin 120 SE White ARGB cooler. I'm not sure whether this is caused by overheating, a power issue, a loose connection, or something else. What should I check first?

Start by checking every power connection, especially the motherboard 24-pin cable, CPU power connector, and graphics-card power cable. Reseat them firmly and make sure no cable is partially loose. If the wiring is secure, the power supply or a short could be causing its protection circuit to shut the system down.
Pay attention to exactly when it happens. Does it shut down while idle, only during games, or during any demanding task? If temperatures stay normal and all connections are seated, testing with another known-good power supply would be a useful next step. Power-supply problems can be difficult to identify because they often look like completely random crashes.
