I'm planning to upgrade from my RX 6650 XT and found two options at my local computer store: an ASRock RX 9070 GRE Steel Legend Dark OC 12GB for $479.99 and an ASRock RX 9060 XT Challenger OC 16GB for $469.99. I mainly play at 1080p now, but I'd like enough performance for a future move to 1440p. My system has a Ryzen 5 7500F, 32GB of RAM, and a 750W power supply. Which card offers the better value and longer-term upgrade?

The RX 9070 GRE looks like the better deal for only $10 more. It should be roughly 20–30% faster than the RX 9060 XT in many games, which will matter more when you move to 1440p. Although it has 12GB instead of 16GB of VRAM, that should still be plenty for 1080p and generally fine for 1440p gaming.
I’d also choose the RX 9070 GRE. The extra performance is more valuable than the additional 4GB of VRAM on the 9060 XT at these resolutions, and 12GB is still a reasonable amount for current 1440p gaming. Your Ryzen 5 7500F should pair well with either card, and a good-quality 750W PSU should be sufficient, assuming it has the required power connectors.
The 750W supply should be fine as long as it’s a reputable model and not an older low-quality unit. It’s worth checking the manufacturer’s recommended wattage and connector requirements before installing the card.
