I'm building a gaming and After Effects PC in India with a budget of around ₹2.5 lakh, excluding the monitor, keyboard, mouse, and SSD. I'm deciding between the Ryzen 7 9800X3D and Ryzen 9 9950X3D. My current parts list includes a Gigabyte B850M AORUS ELITE WIFI6E motherboard, 32GB of Kingston Fury Beast DDR5-5600 RAM, a Corsair Nautilus 360 RS ARGB cooler, an ASUS TUF RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, and an 850W Platinum power supply. I want strong gaming performance, good After Effects performance, and a system that will remain useful for several years. Which CPU makes more sense, and should I change any of the other components?

Some of the budget also seems to be going toward premium parts that won’t improve performance much. You could use a good dual-tower air cooler such as a Phantom Spirit or Peerless Assassin instead of the 360mm AIO, choose a reliable A-tier 850W Gold PSU, and switch the memory to a 6000MT/s DDR5 kit with suitable timings. A 7800X3D could also be considered if it is significantly cheaper, but the 9800X3D is the better current choice for a new build.
The RTX 5060 Ti is the weak point in this build for the budget. A stronger graphics card such as an RTX 5070, RX 9070, or RX 9070 XT would give you a much better gaming experience. With those cards, the 9950X3D is probably unnecessary unless your After Effects work is business-critical or heavily CPU-dependent. For personal or lighter projects, the 9800X3D should be more than enough.
