My existing computer has been mostly fine until recently, but I'm ready to build a new system. My budget is around $2,000, with some flexibility. This will be used primarily for gaming at 1440p, and I don't need peripherals. I'm located in the United States and can shop at Micro Center, preferably at the Jersey or Philadelphia-area stores, though I could also travel to locations around New York if necessary. What parts or prebuilt options would you recommend?

Micro Center’s CPU bundles are worth checking first. A Ryzen 7 7500X3D bundle around $400 could leave plenty of room in the budget for a GeForce RTX 5070 or Radeon RX 9070 XT. For 1440p ultra settings, the 9070 XT would be especially appealing if you can find one in stock.
I’d definitely check inventory at the Jersey and Philadelphia-area stores first. GPU availability can vary a lot by location, so it’s worth confirming stock before making the trip.
