Is It Worth Upgrading to an RX 9070 XT and Moving to 1440p?

I'm nearly ready to buy and build this PC, but I'd appreciate a second opinion before ordering. My current displays are two 1080p monitors that are about six years old, and I'm wondering whether it would be better to upgrade from the RX 9060 XT to an RX 9070 XT and replace them with a single 1440p monitor. Would the extra GPU cost be worthwhile for 1440p gaming, and does the build otherwise look ready to go?

If the RX 9070 XT is affordable, it’s a reasonable upgrade for a new 1440p-focused build. It may also be worth comparing the platform options, since an Intel 250K-based build could offer similar overall performance at roughly the same price.

If the upgrade fits comfortably within your budget, I’d go with the RX 9070 XT and a 1440p display. That combination should provide a noticeable improvement over older 1080p screens and give you more room for demanding games in the future.

The RX 9070 or 9070 XT would be more than capable for 1440p gaming. You don’t necessarily need the XT, though, so compare the prices and choose whichever offers the better value for your budget.
