I've been using my iPhone 17 since May, and its battery health has dropped to 98% after 60 charge cycles. I usually charge it with the 30W Apple power adapter that came with my Mac. Is this amount of battery wear normal, or would switching to a 20W adapter help?

That level of wear can be normal. Mine is at 96% after around 275 cycles, using the original USB-C cable and charger. Battery health doesn’t always decrease at a perfectly steady rate, so 98% at 60 cycles by itself isn’t a reason to worry.
The 30W adapter probably isn’t the issue. The phone regulates how much power it draws, so using a 30W Apple charger shouldn’t automatically damage the battery compared with a 20W one. Charging habits matter more: avoid charging when the phone is hot, try not to use it heavily while charging, and consider a charge limit if you don’t need a full battery every day.
Would you still recommend switching to a 20W adapter, or is the 30W one fine to keep using?
A 20W charger may produce a little less heat in some situations, but it isn’t necessary just because the adapter is rated at 30W. Keeping the phone cool is more important than the wattage printed on the charger.

Thanks, that helps put it into perspective.
