I've had the same PC for several years and suspect my three-fan Gigabyte Eagle OC RTX 3060 Ti may be failing. Over the past two weeks, line artifacts have appeared along the top of my monitor and gradually worsened. I also sometimes see 5–10 seconds of flashing, glitchy artifacts across the entire screen when powering on or at random times, although the underlying image remains visible.
My current system is a Ryzen 5 5600X, an EVGA 750 BQ power supply, 32GB of DDR4-3600 memory, and a single 1080p 165Hz monitor. I occasionally play VR games, especially VRChat, but most of my games are older titles or modded Minecraft. I might add a second monitor in the future.
I paid about £350 for the 3060 Ti three years ago and could spend roughly £200 more this time. I'm open to used or refurbished cards and slightly prefer Nvidia. What would be a sensible upgrade for this system?

A new RX 9060 XT with 16GB of VRAM could be a sensible match if you want to stay closer to your budget. It should be plenty for 1080p gaming and occasional VR, and your 750W PSU should be adequate as long as it’s in good condition. Before replacing the card, though, test another display cable or monitor if possible, since artifacts can also come from the cable, monitor, or a loose connection.
With a 750W power supply and a 1080p 165Hz display, you probably don’t need to go much higher than an RTX 5070 or Radeon RX 9070-class card. For the used market, an RTX 4070 or 4070 Super, or an RX 7700 XT or 7800 XT, could be good choices depending on local prices. Since your budget is around £550, those used options may offer better value than buying new.
