My PC is Flickering and I Keep Getting Graphics Hardware Errors – What Should I Do?

I just bought this computer a few days ago from Facebook Marketplace and it was working perfectly until now. I was in the middle of a gaming session when everything froze, and I couldn't even tab out. Then, the screen started blinking on and off. It stays on for about 30 seconds before turning off again, and if I try to move my mouse or do anything, it goes black again really quickly. Should I consider taking it to a computer repair shop for help?

Funny timing! Just moments after I posted my original question, my computer restarted and the fans started acting weird, but now it's working fine. I'm really confused about what happened! Is there any way to diagnose what caused the problem and how to prevent it from happening again?

You might want to try using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to completely remove your graphics drivers, then reinstall them. It can help with issues like this, especially if there was a problem with the install.

First thing’s first: if things get weird, just reboot! But honestly, I get it. You mentioned rebooting multiple times and even switching power cords and display cables. That’s a bit strange. If it happens again, you might want to check the hardware connections or consider getting it looked at sooner rather than later.

I did reboot several times, but I tried all sorts of connections too, even using the HDMI port on the motherboard. That's why it's so confusing to me!
