I'm new to building PCs and currently can't afford a dedicated graphics card. I'm considering a Ryzen 5 7600X and would like to play games such as The Sims 4 and Paralives until I can buy a GPU later. I've read that these games may depend heavily on the CPU, and that the 7600X includes integrated graphics. Would its built-in graphics be sufficient, or would I need a dedicated GPU right away?

You can try the 7600X’s iGPU with The Sims 4 by lowering the resolution, detail settings, and frame-rate target. Some systems may manage it acceptably, but 1080p or 1440p gaming will be much better with a dedicated GPU. Also, there isn’t a Ryzen 5 7600G; the 7600X does have a basic iGPU, while the faster integrated graphics are found on chips such as the 8600G and 8700G.
If gaming without a dedicated GPU is important for now, an AMD Ryzen 5 8600G would be a better temporary choice. Its integrated graphics are much faster and can manage lighter games at reduced settings. Later, you can add a graphics card, although the 8600G has some platform limitations compared with a 7600X, including fewer PCIe lanes for a future GPU.
The Ryzen 5 7600X does have integrated graphics, but they’re extremely basic: just two compute units intended mainly for displaying the desktop and troubleshooting. The Sims 4 may launch and be playable at low settings, especially at 720p, but performance won’t be ideal. Paralives could be more demanding, so I wouldn’t count on smooth gameplay without testing it.
A CPU-heavy game still needs a capable GPU for rendering. The 7600X’s integrated graphics can handle light games, but it will be the main limitation here. Once you install a dedicated graphics card, connect the monitor to the card and install its drivers; the improvement should be substantial.
Would switching to an 8600G make more sense if I plan to add a dedicated GPU later? I’m mainly interested in The Sims 4 and Paralives.
