My GeForce RTX 3070 recently died after several years, and I don't know much about choosing graphics cards. I have roughly $250 to spend, but I'm fine with lowering graphics settings and only need something temporary while I save for a better replacement. I mainly play games such as Palworld. Would an AISURIX RX 590 be an acceptable short-term option, especially if it costs about $170, or are there better inexpensive used or refurbished GPUs to consider?

At around $170, an RX 590 probably isn’t a great deal. It’s an older card, uses quite a bit of power, and may struggle in newer games. A used RTX 3070 would be a much better replacement if you can find one near the upper end of your budget, though you should check the seller’s reputation and whether any warranty or return period is included.
A used RTX 3070 or 3070 Ti would give you performance close to what you had, but they may be difficult to fit into a strict $250 budget. For a temporary card, look at other used options such as an RX 6600 or GTX 1660 Super if you find a good price. They won’t match the 3070, but they should handle lighter settings much better than spending $170 on an old RX 590.
Unfortunately, the 3070 and 3070 Ti are still outside my budget right now, so I’ll focus on finding a reasonably priced used card with a return option.
What matters most with used hardware is buying from a seller with a clear return policy or testing it in person. Refurbished listings with a warranty are generally safer than an unverified private sale.
