I'm planning to upgrade my computer in stages rather than replacing everything at once. My current system has a Ryzen 5 5600 and an RX 6750 XT. I'm considering either upgrading the platform to a Ryzen 7 7800X3D while keeping the RX 6750 XT, or buying an RX 9070 while keeping the Ryzen 5 5600. The two upgrades would cost about the same. I mostly play single-player games such as Spider-Man and Resident Evil, but I also play Fortnite, Dark and Darker, and Counter-Strike sometimes. Which upgrade would make the biggest difference first?

I’d start with the GPU. Unless you’re mainly playing competitive esports games at very high refresh rates and low settings, the RX 9070 should provide a more noticeable improvement in most modern single-player games. The Ryzen 5 5600 is still capable, especially at higher resolutions where the graphics card is doing most of the work.
That makes sense. I’ve been playing more single-player games lately, although I still jump into Fortnite, Dark and Darker, and Counter-Strike from time to time.
