I'm putting together a gaming PC that I'd like to keep for roughly five years, with the build finished by November 2026. I've already bought a Ryzen 7 7800X3D for €282.48 and a Corsair 240 mm AIO for €60.41, and I don't want to delay the rest of the build while waiting for RAM prices to drop.
The main decision is the graphics card. I'm considering an ASUS RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5080, or Radeon RX 9070 XT. I want to play demanding games such as GTA 6, Call of Duty, Minecraft, ARC Raiders, and Forza Horizon 6 at 4K on a Samsung Odyssey Neo G8. Will the 5070 Ti or 9070 XT be enough, or is the RTX 5080 the better choice for keeping the system capable over the next five years?

I'd appreciate advice on the GPU choice and any problems or improvements you notice in the rest of the build.

Native 4K at maximum settings is still demanding, so consider whether high refresh rate and smooth frame pacing matter more than resolution. A 1440p or 4K-upscaled image with high settings can feel better than inconsistent native 4K performance. If you want the most flexibility, choose the 5080; otherwise, the 9070 XT is likely the sensible value pick. A large dual-tower air cooler would also be a reliable alternative to liquid cooling, although the AIO you already have is perfectly usable if you prefer its look.
The RX 9070 XT is probably the strongest value option if its local price is significantly lower than the Nvidia cards. The RTX 5070 Ti offers somewhat better ray tracing and DLSS support, but the performance difference may not justify a large price gap. If the budget allows and you want the best chance of maintaining high settings for several years, the RTX 5080 is the safer high-end choice. Also double-check the memory price and configuration—€400 for 32 GB seems unusually high, and 64 GB may be a more sensible long-term target.
For a five-year build centered around 4K, I’d lean toward the RTX 5080 if you can comfortably afford it. The 9070 XT is the better price-to-performance option, while the 5070 Ti is harder to recommend if it costs close to the 5080 without a substantial discount. Keep in mind that future games, especially unreleased titles, may require upscaling or frame generation to maintain smooth 4K performance regardless of which card you choose.
I already own the 240 mm LCD AIO, so I’m keeping it for the appearance. It was only about €60 rather than the usual €145, and it fits the clean black build I’m aiming for.
