What GPU Upgrade Pairs Well With an i5-14400F and 850W PSU?

I recently built a system with an Intel i5-14400F, B760M motherboard, 32GB of DDR4 RAM, and an RTX 3060 12GB. I'm looking to upgrade the graphics card and have an NZXT 850W power supply. My budget is around $500–$600. Which GPU would be a worthwhile upgrade without being a poor match for the i5-14400F?

If you can find one near the top of your budget, the RX 9070 XT offers much stronger performance and 16GB of VRAM. Your 850W power supply should be more than adequate, but make sure the card’s physical size fits your case. If it costs significantly more than $600, the 9060 XT or RTX 5070 may be better value.

The Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB is worth considering in that price range. It should be a noticeable step up from the RTX 3060, and the extra VRAM gives it some longevity for higher-resolution textures.

I was already considering the 9060 XT, so I’ll look more closely at its current pricing and performance.

The most important factors are your resolution, games, and local pricing. At 1440p, cards like the RX 9060 XT or RTX 5070 make more sense than making a small upgrade. The i5-14400F should pair reasonably well with these GPUs, especially at higher settings and resolutions.

An RTX 5070 would also be a solid upgrade if you prefer Nvidia features such as DLSS, ray tracing, or CUDA support. Check the actual prices where you live, since value can change a lot between models and sales.

I’ll keep the 5070 in mind and compare it against the AMD options.
