I recently bought a new PC for around €400, with a Ryzen 5 5600, 16GB of RAM, and a GTX 1660 Super. The system handles newer games and first-person shooters reasonably well, but I'm still using an old 24-inch 60Hz monitor. It works fine for browsing, but gaming feels limited by the low refresh rate. What monitor would suit this hardware? I'm mainly looking for gaming recommendations, though I haven't decided on an exact budget yet.

The right choice depends a lot on your budget and whether you care more about esports-style smoothness or image quality in single-player games. In general, prioritize 1080p, IPS, 144Hz or higher, and FreeSync/G-Sync compatibility over flashy HDR claims.
For that graphics card, a 24- or 25-inch 1080p IPS monitor with at least 144Hz would be a good match. Look for a stated response time under 1ms and adaptive sync support if possible. The GTX 1660 Super is much better suited to high-refresh 1080p gaming than to 1440p.
A 27-inch model can work, but 1080p looks a little less sharp at that size, especially for text and desktop use. I’d stick with 24 inches if you want a clearer image and mostly play competitive games. Before choosing one, compare prices and reviews from reliable monitor-testing channels, since advertised response times aren’t always realistic.
